Behind every confident advocate is a mother figure who taught resilience and strength—skills that are carried from home to the courtroom. Happy Mother’s Day from our mock trial family! 💙⚖️

Over the weekend, four members of LMU Mock Trial — Nathan Grunder, Madelynn Kaiser, Kane Mathes, and Parker Bohne — traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to compete in the American Association for Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition.

Madelynn and Parker represented the plaintiff while Nathan and Kane represented the defense, showcasing strong litigation strategy and persuasive courtroom advocacy.

When not competing as advocates, teammates stepped into the role of witnesses to support each trial team.

Across three trials, our team put the trial skills that define our program on full display. We’re proud to represent LMU Law and continue developing the next generation of courtroom advocates.

This weekend two of our travel teams competed at the Texas Young Lawyers Association National Trial Competition in Birmingham, Alabama.

For the first time in LMU's Mock Trial Program, Team 1 with advocates Emily Purcell, Lora Smith, and Eric Rouse qualified as semi finalists and advanced to the semi-finals round at the TYLA Competition.

Emily Purcell, Mallory Reed, Eric Rouse, Lora Smith, Naimad Delgado, and Kaden Tackett all competed as advocates this weekend and faced three rigorous qualifying rounds. All of our competitors had the chance to strengthen their advocacy skills through quality competition and valuable interaction with members of the bench and bar.

Aynsleigh Martin, Zac Sharp, Alec Sears, and Jerry Jones also performed as witnesses at the competition, getting first hand experience in the vital role that witnesses play in the American trial process.

Congratulations to all of our travel team members and their accomplishments this weekend! We look forward to the opportunity to compete again next year!
