We are still reminiscing to this past Thursday ‼️ Bekah, Malichi, RaShaun, and Willow had such a wonderful opportunity of performing at the 2026 IHSMTA Showcase. They all did such a phenomenal job in the Opening Medley and the Spotlight Medley Duet! 🎵✨🎭

All of us in the KHS Drama Department are EXTREMELY proud of these four. We will miss them as they are all alumni, however we are excited to see where the world takes them in their next steps! We hope the skills they earned from theatre follows them wherever they go (and maybe they even continue to do theatre in the future👀).

And with that… see you same time next year for the 2027 showcase!♥️🤍

The 2026 IHSMTA Showcase is TONIGHT! Catch our Knoxville crew AT 7 PM on the Des Moines Civic Center Stage! Not only will you see them in the Opening Medley… you can also catch Rebekah Bennett & Malichi Swan in SPOTLIGHT MEDLEY #5 (the last one of the showcase) performing A DUET of “Promises” from our rendition of HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION! 🌹🎶

✩ Knoxville High School’s Rebekah Bennett, Malichi Swan, Rashaun Boyer, and Willow Kam have been working hard this past week and a half at rehearsals for the 2026 Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards! We are super stoked for these FOUR! 💛🐾

📣 SURPRISE!! We have one last announcement to make related to 2026 IHSMTA! 🤍

✨We have the privilege to bring not only two but FOUR students to the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase this year. We are ecstatic to make known that, senior RASHAUN BOYER, who portrayed our phenomenal Hermes🪽 & senior WILLOW KAM, who portrayed our glamorous Persephone🌿, will be representing Knoxville + joining Malichi and Bekah in the OPENING MEDLEY!✨

We are incredibly proud of them all👏♥️🪽🎭🌿🎶⭐️

Our rendition of “WAY DOWN, HADESTOWN” received an honorable DISTINGUISHED SCENE from IHSMTA! 🚂🎵

⬇️⬇️⬇️

The song that stole the show! This number is significant as EVERY single character is in this scene at one point! AND the crew has to make the scene transition quick, bring in the fog, the lights bring a gorgeous array of colors, the orchestra brings the music to life with each instrument, and of course it is tied together with a major choreographed dance throughout the piece! We are so beyond proud that our rendition of “WAY DOWN, HADESTOWN” was recognized with such an honor for this show-stopping performance. 🚂🌿♥️🎶🥀
