Here are August 25th notes from "Muffins with Mik".

The meeting focused on fostering communication between Knox Community Schools and the community. The leadership team discussed strategic goals, the vision statement, and updated communication channels via School Messenger and PowerSchool. Addressing attendance policies, administrators explained how state accountability models impact student performance. Participants discussed employee morale and survey anonymity to ensure honest feedback. Discussions also covered teacher mentorship programs, classroom sizes, and staff turnover data.

Mr. Mik committed to following up on specific action steps during the next meeting on September 22, 2026 with include website updates and distribution of the Ambassador Program Form.

Our first “Muffins with Mik” is tomorrow, August 25, at 8:00 a.m. in Central Office.

Please enter through Door 1A. Our Culinary Arts students will be providing the muffins.

We love seeing the creativity and dedication our teachers and staff put into decorating our schools for the beginning of a new school year. Their hard work and attention to detail help create a welcoming, positive, and engaging environment for our students. We are grateful for the pride they take in making our schools feel special!

We are excited to discuss the Indiana Department of Education’s new accountability model and its potential impact on Knox Community School Corporation (KCSC) at our community forums next week. We look forward to sharing information, answering questions, and engaging in meaningful conversations with our community.

Our 6th 7th and 8th grade football teams had a great showing at Lucas Oil Stadium today!! Between the three grades, the Redskins scored 38 total touchdowns in 4 games! Thanks so much to all the coaching staff, bus drivers, players, cheerleaders and their families for showing up big to show your support for the Redskins. 🏈🏈🏈

After our tornado drill earlier this week we received some feedback that many parents and guardians did not receive our communications. Looking at the error reports from technology on this, the largest issues occur when text messages are being sent. We believe the issue stems from a lack of annual opting in to receiving text messages.
