The Klickitat School District is seeking community members to serve on a Community Center Advisory Committee. The purpose of the committee will be to explore how the Community Center can best serve the needs of the community while also reducing the financial burden associated with operating and maintaining the facility.
Committee members will review and analyze a variety of potential uses, partnerships, funding opportunities, and operational options for the building. At the conclusion of its work, the committee will develop recommendations for consideration by the Klickitat School District Board of Directors.
We are looking for community members who are interested in helping develop a sustainable, community-focused plan for the future of this important facility.

Welcome Carl Cooledge as the new Athletic Director for the Klickitat School District. Carl has served as a coach for the district for many years and will be an excellent advocate for our students and athletic programs as the AD. Over the next several months Carl will be adjusting to the newness of the position. Next is a project that the 7/8th graders put together during 3rd quarter (sorry for the delay), a fun re-write of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" called "The Devil Went Down to Klickitat", featuring lead vocals by Dominic M. and Emily P., with single-line spotlights by Jesse K. and Sam K. Chorus voices and guitar strums by the entire class; drum beats by Jesse and Emily; bass guitar by Michael S. (We did use a karaoke track as part of the background, as none of us could do the violin part.)

And for the grand finale, this newest work is the project of the sixth graders (which included Briana B. and Michael S.). On the first day of class, I ask students to write some lyrics, and then I set them to music live into my recorder. For the rest of the quarter we worked on overdubs, and now here they are strung together in a fun medley:
