🏈 MEET THE KICKER: KLEIN HIGH! 💙💛

From Klein High School graduate to Klein ISD teacher...and now Klein High kicker!

Meet Mabel Barrera, Klein High Class of 2014, and our final Kickin’ It with KEF kicker of the season!

Today, Mabel is a 4th grade teacher at Bernshausen Elementary, where she happens to work alongside our Klein Forest kicker, Kim Richards. After taking her own shot earlier this season, Kim encouraged Mabel to grab a raffle ticket and give it a try.

Good thing she listened. 😎

Thursday night, Mabel is heading back to Klein Memorial Stadium to represent her alma mater with two chances from the 15-yard line to win $500!

From the Class of 2014 to the field at Klein Memorial Stadium, we can’t wait to see Mabel take her shot!

Let’s hear it for Mabel! 🏈💙💛

🐾 GRANT IN ACTION: Four years later...

When KEF awarded a grant to bring Zeus to Klein Collins High School in December 2022, the goal was to provide comfort and support for students in times of need.

Four years later, Zeus has become part of the fabric of Klein Collins. ❤️ He supports students in difficult moments, greets them in the hallways and has even inspired the student-led Zeus & Friends Club to help support his continued care.

Last week, Klein ISD Trustee and KEF Board Member Nicole Peters spotted Zeus during Board Tours and sent us this picture. We couldn’t resist sharing!

We love seeing how a grant awarded years ago can continue to grow, evolve and make a difference for students every single day.

That’s a Grant in Action. 🐾

⛳ Another great partner is back on the course with KEF!

A big thank you to Perdue Brandon Collins Fielder & Mott for joining us as a $5,000 Course Sponsor for the 25th Annual A.K. Buddy Brown Golf Classic!

Perdue Brandon is a longtime supporter of the Klein ISD Education Foundation, and their connection to KEF goes beyond sponsorship. We’re also grateful to have Jason Bailey, Klein Forest alum and attorney with Perdue Brandon, serving on our KEF Board of Directors. We appreciate all the ways this team continues to show up for KEF and Klein ISD! 💙

Course Sponsorships are limited to just three, and only ONE spot remains! Want to join Perdue Brandon on the course? Learn more at www.thekef.org/golf26.

Thank you, Perdue Brandon, for continuing to choose to make a difference for Klein ISD students and educators! ⛳

⛳ Thank you, Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Company! 💙

We are so grateful for partners who continue to show up for KEF year after year! Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Company has been a longtime supporter of the Klein ISD Education Foundation, and we’re excited to have them back for the 25th Annual A.K. Buddy Brown Golf Classic!

As our Golf Cart Sponsor, S&P helps keep our golfers moving around the course throughout tournament day, but their support of KEF reaches far beyond the golf course. We are so thankful for their continued partnership and commitment to Klein ISD students and educators.

🧱 GRANT IN ACTION! 🔬

Fifth graders at Metzler Elementary are building their understanding of food chains one LEGO at a time!

Through LEGOndary STEM Builders in the Science Classroom, a nearly $12,000 KEF grant awarded last fall, students are using LEGO Science engineering kits to bring science concepts to life through hands-on learning.

Even better, these kits travel! They’re part of Klein ISD’s STEAM Express mobile science classroom, allowing students and teachers across the district to experience the lessons and put their engineering skills to work.

This is what a KEF grant looks like in action! 💙

Adam came ready to Kick It with KEF! 🏈🖤💛

Klein Oak alum Adam gave it his best shot tonight, and while the ball didn’t quite make it through the uprights, he made the most of every minute of the experience! He brought an awesome cheering section, had a blast on the field and reminded us once again why we love seeing our Klein alumni come back and represent their schools.

A huge thank you to Adam and his sweet family for jumping into the fun with us, and to Absolute All Sports for sponsoring tonight’s kick and supporting the Klein ISD Education Foundation!

And yes…one of Adam’s kicks may have sent our photographer scrambling for cover. 😂📸🏈

Way to represent, Adam! Oak ’Em! 🖤💛
