Tourism does more than bring visitors to Oregon; it generates spending that reaches communities and businesses across the state.
According to Travel Oregon, in 2025 travelers spent $14.6 billion in Oregon, supporting 122,920 travel-generated jobs. Oregon residents themselves accounted for approximately 40% of visitor spending, showing that exploring our own state can have a meaningful economic impact close to home.
Behind those numbers are restaurants, shops, lodging businesses, guides, attractions, makers, farms, recreation businesses, and many other local entrepreneurs who help make Oregon worth exploring.
This World Tourism Day, consider experiencing someplace new in Oregon—and supporting the local businesses you find along the way.
