Please welcome Heidi Friend, new vice principal at Peterson Elementary School!
Friend brings many years of experience in elementary education to her new role at Peterson. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with students, teachers, families, and support staff across multiple grade levels, with a particular passion for curriculum and instruction and supporting teachers through professional growth.
Friend has worked in a variety of roles in education, including as a classroom teacher and building administrator. These experiences have helped her develop an understanding of the perspectives and responsibilities involved in school leadership. As a Peterson leader, she hopes to continue growing as an instructional leader while learning from other educators and bringing new ideas to her school.
Her goals include becoming more intentional and effective in supporting teachers, developing strong systems, and using data to improve outcomes for students. Above all, she is committed to ensuring every student has access to a safe, engaging and meaningful learning environment.
