First day back for teachers and they are already getting to work. Today’s work consisted of reflecting, planning, discussing, and preparing for our students. We are building a climate & culture of strong systems and expectations in order to foster a safe, respectful, responsible environment that is conducive for student learning, growth, and achievement.

The District will pay for all Elementary school supplies. What a blessing!

Klamath County School District will provide free school supplies this year for all elementary school students. The district will purchase the items your child needs for class and those supplies will go directly to the classroom, ready for your child to use on the first day of school.

Families of middle and high school students will need to check with their school to determine what class fees and supplies are needed this year.

You can also check out our Back to School Hub -- https://www.kcsd.k12.or.us/district/back-to-school-hub.cfm --for your school's up-to-date information about first day schedules, open houses, and more.

Families come to school on Sept 15th and meet our new Superintendent and hear the goals for the new year

ONE TEAM. ONE GOAL. STUDENT SUCCESS.
What do you love about your school? How can we better serve your school, your student, and your community?

Those are some of the questions Superintendent Melissa Cole hopes to explore as she begins her first school year with Klamath County School District.

Superintendent Cole will be visiting schools across the district for a series of community engagement listening sessions, creating opportunities to hear from students, families, staff and community members about what is working, where there are opportunities to grow, and what they envision for the future of KCSD.

Upcoming sessions:
• Aug. 26 — Henley Middle | 5:30 p.m.
• Aug. 27 — Gilchrist Schools | 4 p.m.
• Sept. 2 — Stearns Elementary | 5 p.m.
• Sept. 3 — Brixner Junior High | 5 p.m.
• Sept. 4 — Bonanza Schools | 5:30 p.m.
• Sept. 8 — Chiloquin Schools | 5 p.m.
• Sept. 9 — Merrill, Malin and Lost River @ Lost River| 5:30 p.m.
• Sept. 10 — Keno Elementary | 5 p.m.
• Sept. 14 — Gearhart School | 5 p.m.
• Sept. 15 — Ferguson Elementary | 5 p.m.
• Sept. 16 — Peterson Elementary | 5 p.m.
• Sept. 21 — Mazama High | 6 p.m.
• Sept. 22 — Henley Elementary | 5 p.m.
• Sept. 23 — Henley High | 6 p.m.
• Sept. 24 — Shasta Elementary | 5 p.m.

Additional sessions for Falcon Heights and Great Basin Homeschool will be announced soon.

For Superintendent Cole, the first 100 days as superintendent are about listening to the people who know their schools best, learning from their experiences, and working together to build a stronger future for every student.

KCSD welcomes students, families, staff and community members to join the conversation. Let’s listen, learn, and lead together.

Starting this school year. Register your students now.

Klamath County School District will implement a new requirement beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. All students who ride a school bus must be registered prior to receiving transportation services.

Registration forms and instructions were sent home with current bus riders on Monday, June 8. Parents and guardians are asked to complete the registration process at their earliest convenience to ensure transportation arrangements are in place before the start of the school year.

Please note that a separate registration form is required for each child who will be riding the school bus. To register online, visit:
https://kcsdk12.transfinder.com/formfinder/Survey.html?c=kcsdk12&t=87b7ba4609cn (You can also use the QR code in this post)

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to improve transportation services and ensure accurate routing information for all student riders.

If you have any questions regarding the registration process, please contact the Transportation Office at 541-883-5013 for assistance. Families will be notified by email or phone prior to the start of the school year once transportation arrangements are confirmed.
