Our EmpowHER Battle for the BreaKaway Tournament was absolute electric! This player-centered competition gave our girls the chance to put everything they’ve been building throughout EmpowHER into action — confidence, communication, leadership, creativity, and teamwork.

All THREE finals came down to a “next goal wins” incentive (due to a time crunch) to determine the winner and one of the finals went to an epic 1v1 duel after dropping from 4v4 to 3v3 to 2v2 in OT play.

It’s about more than the final score. It’s about competing fearlessly, solving problems together, supporting the players beside and around you, and having FUN doing it. 😊

The Helium Stick Challenge is always a deceptive one for the girls! They think it’ll be easy and then realize quickly that the group must stop blaming each other, slow down, communicate, and synchronize their movements. 🗣️

The girls always love when it’s yoga day at EmpowHER! 🧘‍♀️ It reminds them that becoming a stronger athlete isn’t always about doing more—sometimes it’s about learning how to reset, breathe, and take care of yourself.

At EmpowHER, the last 10-15 minutes of every session is player-led; encouraging girls to collaborate, solve challenges, make decisions, and strengthen their leadership and teamwork! Some fun is had too 🤭

Looking forward to introducing to our girls this weekend! She was a youth player when I first started coaching at WVSC (now WVFC) many years ago and it’s been so fun to watch her journey to the top. To know Abi is to admire her - a goofy personality, strong work ethic, and an undeniable passion for the game. Truly a one-of-a-kind human! 🤩
