If you have spent time in the rocky shores on Appledore Island you might recognize this marine snail! The Gulf of Maine hosts three different species of Littorina snails. Can you identify this species?

We are grateful to the twenty-nine volunteers who joined us this fall to get the island ready for the winter! Over 400 hours to cleaning, organizing, winterizing, and special projects that were needed before we closed the 2026 season were completed by this amazing team!
