Today we wrapped up another amazing year at Kissimmee Middle School! We proudly said goodbye to our 8th graders as they begin their next chapter, and we celebrated the incredible careers of Ms. Castillo and Ms. Mann on their well-earned retirements after years of dedicated service to our Jaguars.

One of our newest initiatives at KMS this year was our Acceleration Academy. This cohort served as a reward for students enrolled in our rigorous high school credit courses. We recognized their hard work throughout the year by providing monthly events and dress-down days.

Yesterday, we celebrated our first cohort with a farewell breakfast. We also invited all our 7th graders who achieved qualifying test scores for next year’s cohort to join us for a special surprise welcome. Each new members received a new T-shirt as we officially introduced them to the 2026-7 Acceleration Academy!

Today, the Osceola County School District - Career and Technical Education team visited KMS to surprise our very own Ms. Menendez by naming her Osceola County Schools’ New CTE Teacher of the Year!

Ms. Menendez has had a fantastic first year at KMS. She has made an incredible impact on our CTE department, and we look forward to seeing how she continues to grow and inspire the program in the future.

In Dr. Deturck’s computer class at Kissimmee Middle School, Faith has earned an incredible FOUR technology certifications in a single school year:

What makes this even more impressive? Faith is the ONLY middle school student in the district this year to earn FOUR certifications — and she is only a 6th grader! Faith’s hard work, determination, and commitment to learning technology at such a young age is truly outstanding. This has been a fantastic week of celebrations at KMS!

Students who achieved their learning gain goals earned tickets to our annual carnival, and those who passed their Civics or Science exams had the opportunity to throw pies or water balloons at their teachers!

We’re so proud to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our Jaguars this year!

Congratulations to Coach Johnson and the Jaguar football team for their fantastic win in round one of the playoffs!

This morning, Kissimmee Middle School began testing season with our tradition of having underclassmen write positive messages on fruit for our 8th graders and we even had Uncle Sam lead the Civics testers to their rooms!

Today, Kissimmee Middle School held it annual Civics Boot Camp. Congratulations to Mr. Bryan's fourth period class for taking home the trophy and a huge thank you to Mr Sypolt and all the teachers who participated in the event. It was a huge success in the students are now ready for their EOC tomorrow!

This week, our friends at Eckerd Connects brought renowned artist David Zambrano to KMS to create a mural in our courtyard. Art experiences like this inspire our students, encourage creativity, and show them the power of self‑expression.
