New Beginnings Education Center - Osceola

Today, we celebrated our very own Dean of Students, Ms. Omaira Perez. An extraordinary woman whose impact on New Beginnings will be felt for years to come. ❤️

Ms. Perez has been many things to this school: a leader, mentor, instructional coach, diplomat, drill sergeant, and, when needed most, a source of comfort and strength. She stepped away from district leadership to work alongside us in the trenches because she believed deeply in the mission of New Beginnings and, most importantly, in our students.

The food, dancing, singing, and laughter shared today reflected the spirit and culture she helped cultivate within these walls.

Her presence has shaped this school in immeasurable ways, and the standard she leaves behind will not be easy to match. While we will miss her dearly, we are incredibly grateful for the passion, wisdom, and heart she poured into this community every single day.

Congratulations on your retirement, Ms. Perez. We wish you endless joy and blessings in this next chapter. 💙

Last Friday, hosted a Signs of Su***de workshop for the students at NBEC. Students were taught how to get help for themselves and others. They also worked on their own personal Vision Board to remind them how much they have to look forward to for the future.

Huge shoutout to our very own Officer Villegas for being awarded KPD School Resource Officer of the year!! Officer Villegas is a consistent and positive presence on our campus. He knows our students by name, spends time in classrooms, and builds meaningful relationships daily.

He encourages our students to grow and make better choices, while also being a dependable source of support for our staff.

We are grateful for his service and the impact he continues to make at New Beginnings Education Center.
