ππ Phoenix Families, We Are SO Excited for an Amazing School Year! π
What an incredible start to the school year! Thank you to everyone who attended Open House and helped make it the most successful turnout in our school's history. Seeing our students arrive with smiles, excitement, and supplies in hand reminds us just how special our Phoenix Family truly is. β€οΈ
As we begin this exciting journey together, here are a few important reminders to help ensure safe, smooth arrivals and dismissals each day. Our goal is simple: get every Phoenix to school safely, on time, and ready to learn!
πΆ Walker Information
The Flora and Dyer gates will be open for student walkers during arrival and dismissal.
Afternoon Walker Pick-Up
Parents must remain outside the fence/gate area.
Students will be safely walked to you by staff., PM dismissal.
Do not enter the campus.
Parents must be on time for dismissal to receive their student at the designated gate.
VPK/Pre-K and ESE Students with Special Tags
Families with VPK, Pre-K, or ESE students who have a special pick-up tag will wait in front of the school's main doors for dismissal, if you are a WALKER.
Please follow the designated dismissal map and procedures.
π Car Rider Reminders
Morning Arrival: 7:50 AM - 8:15 AM
Students may not be dropped off before 7:50 AM, including Safety Patrol students, there is no supervision for students until 7:50am.
Safety Patrol students will be dropped off with all other students and then report to their assigned duty stations.
There is ONLY ONE car rider line in the morning.
Please do not create a second line for any reason.
Parking is reserved for staff and families with students who have special needs.
Due to safety protocols, parents may not enter the building during arrival.
Drop-off must occur through:

Walker Gate (Flora or Dyer only)
Bus Transportation
π¨ Important Safety Reminder: KPD will be present. Parking on Flora or Dyer Streets and walking students onto campus is not permitted. You may not block roadways while unloading students.
Walkers
Walker access is available ONLY through the Flora and Dyer gates.
Students may not be dropped off by parking nearby and walking them onto campus. With more than 600 students on campus, these procedures help ensure everyone's safety.
Tardies
Students arriving after 8:15 AM are considered tardy.
Our day begins immediately with core instruction in reading or math. Arriving on time helps students start their day successfully and avoid missing important learning opportunities.

Left Lane: VPK, Pre-K, and ESE Students with Special Tags
Important Traffic Information
Car rider lines may not begin forming before 2:30 PM.
KPD will be present to assist with traffic enforcement.
Do not block roadways, entrances, crosswalks, or turning lanes.
If there is no space ahead of your vehicle, do not enter the intersection.
Blocking crosswalks is against the law.
The entrance off FLORA is for buses only. Please follow posted signage.
Dismissal Times
VPK/Pre-K/ESE Special Tag Line
Dismissal begins at 3:00 PM for VPK, PREK and ESE (special tag)
All students in this line must be picked up by 3:15 PM
No exceptions, as traffic patterns will change once the next line begins moving.
Kindergarten through 5th Grade Car Rider Line
Begins moving at 3:15 PM
Pick-up window: 3:15 PM - 3:45 PM
β° Our offices and personnel leave at 3:45 PM. Students cannot remain unsupervised after dismissal. Please have a backup transportation plan and ensure additional approved emergency contacts are listed in your student's account.
π·οΈ Car Rider Tags
Parents must display their car rider tag for students to be released.
If you do not have one, we strongly encourage you to obtain it before dismissal begins to help keep our lines moving efficiently and safely. Students will not be dismissed without a TAG. Keep TAGS on the RIGHT SIDE OF your dashboard.
π« Early Check-Out Reminders
Early dismissals end:
2:15 PM on regular school days
1:15 PM on Wednesdays
After these times, early pickups will not be permitted.
Please work with your child's teacher to understand daily schedules. If your child is at lunch, recess, or a special activity, there may be delays in reporting to the office. Planning ahead will help ensure you arrive at appointments on time.

A Few Final Reminders

Parents are not permitted in the building during arrival or dismissal.

Practice dismissal and arrival routines with your child before school.

Students should be seated on the right side of the vehicle and ready to exit with all belongings.

Students should be able to carry their items into the building independently.

If additional supplies need to be brought to school, parents may drop them off through the front office during school hours. (PLEASE label with student name and teacher name).
