Esther School was founded by Esther Berry, because she wanted her son, who was diagnosed with Down syndrome, to have the education he deserved. The public school system set limitations and conditions upon him. They already believed he had reached his full potential at a Kindergarten Level, and provided no motivation or encouragement that he could achieve any greater advancement. The private school system didn’t have the resources to accommodate children with special needs. So Esther, acting upon the Lord’s direction, began Esther School with two students and a dream. Today, Esther School has 115 enrolled students for the 2014-2015 school year and 60 more potential students. Esther’s son, now 25 years old, is reading, living independently, and working at Publix Supermarket. He is just one of many Esther School success stories.
