Last night, Púlpito Fellows Cohort 6 officially kicked off its first class with Dr. D. A. Horton leading us through Preaching as Public Theology. He challenged our Fellows to return to the neighborhoods, communities, and experiences that have shaped them and consider how those places inform the messages they carry into the public square.

Public theology becomes powerful when our preaching speaks to real people, real communities, and the realities they are navigating every day. We are grateful to Dr. Horton for helping our Fellows begin this journey with intention, context, and a deeper understanding of what it means to bring the Gospel beyond church walls. We are already excited for what next week will bring!

Join Passion2Plant’s Púlpito Fellows on Wednesday, September 30 at 7:00 PM EST for a practical conversation about building a stronger social media presence. Facilitator Sierra Wilston brings more than 15 years of experience helping churches, ministries, nonprofits, and small businesses navigate the digital world.

We’ll talk Social Media 101, algorithms and content, branding, affordable content creation tools, and even the question many of us are asking right now: AI for content creation… good idea or nah? 👀

And Púlpito Fellows Cohort 6 has truly been a birthing experience.

From the beginning of this year, we have been praying, planning, discerning, adjusting, waiting, and trusting that what was being formed would come forth in its appointed time.

And look at God… here we are in the 9th month of the year, and Cohort 6 is HERE! 🙌🏽

There is something so meaningful about welcoming this group after all that it took to get to this moment. What we have been carrying, preparing for, and anticipating is no longer just an idea or a plan, we can finally see the faces of the Fellows who will journey together in this next chapter.

Last night, we officially welcomed Cohort 6, and our heart is full. ❤️

We are excited for the conversations, the stretching, the relationships, the preaching, the formation, and everything God will do in and through this community over the weeks ahead.

Welcome, Cohort 6. We’ve been waiting for you.

Digital platforms give us numbers for almost everything. Views, likes, shares, saves, comments, followers. Those numbers can teach us about our audience, while Jesus gives us another measure to consider: fruit.

Ask what your message is producing in the people who receive it. Is it creating hope? Inviting reflection? Encouraging someone toward Jesus? Helping people see Scripture, justice, and their neighbor differently? That is the kind of impact worth cultivating.

As you enter digital spaces this week, create with purpose. Plant something worth growing.

Our theology eventually shows up in how we treat people.

Faith reaches beyond what we confess with our mouths. It takes shape in how we respond to suffering, how we make room for people, how we pursue justice, and how we choose love when love requires something from us.

May our lives become living evidence of the Gospel we proclaim. May people experience the compassion, courage, mercy, and justice of Jesus through the way we show up in the world.
