Discovery Intermediate School

Last night we celebrated Mr. Maldonado, our Support Staff of the Year, and Ms. Gonzalez, our Teacher of the Year and a District top 10 finalist. It was an amazing evening. Although Ms. Gonzalez was not selected as the District Teacher of the Year, she is definitely number one to us.

Thursday, January 8th Discovery is saying goodbye to a legend, a GOAT, and an amazing person. Deputy Wolnik has been keeping Discovery safe for the last five and a half years. Deputy has been instrumental in changing the culture of Discovery Intermediate by using her greatest "weapon;" her ability to build relationships with students and staff. She will be tremendously missed at Discovery, and we hope that she knows and understands that her presence made Discovery a better place. We will miss her humor, her compassion, her dedication, and her commitment. Remember, Deputy, once an Explorer, always an Explorer! We are forever grateful!

Blizzard conditions hit Discovery. Unfortunately, school will be closed until conditions improve. Im being told the earliest we can look at reopening is January 5th. Stay safe and warm!

Holiday Cheer was all over Discovery as students and staff dressed as reindeer/wore red, and wore tropical holiday attire!

Today we had our first ever intramural basketball tournament. Students purchased tickets using Discovery Dollars. Congrats to all our players!

It was so cold today! Snow People were found all over campus.
