I would love for you to write a permission slip for yourself today.
One that says, “I give myself permission to be lazy today!”
“I give myself to take it easy”.
“I give myself permission to break the rules–not labor over the computer or be ‘perfect’”.
Sometimes, the only thing standing between you and a better, more abundant life is just giving yourself a permission slip.
Find out why permission slips are so important here…

It’s summer…🕶️
When summer arrives, the energy shifts.
The temperature rises.
We put on our T-shirts and flip-flops.
We eat outside next to the barbecue.
Everything is more relaxed.
Even though we really want to wrap ourselves in the “lazy” days of summer, we’ve been trained to think that “lazy” is bad and “working hard” is good.
Maybe–just maybe–it’s okay to be lazy.
Read my article where I discuss the positive benefits of being lazy every once in a while…

Did you know that our brain “constructs” emotions based on predictions?
This fascinating finding is explored in-depth in the 2017 book “How Emotions Are Made” written by Lisa Feldman Barrett, a cognitive psychologist and neuroscientist who has devoted her career to studying emotions.
According to her, a brain doesn’t react…it predicts, constructing our reality based on what it has learned from past and current contexts.
Find out more about how our brain navigates your daily journey in my recent article.

Summer is here, kids are home from school, ice cream and pools beckon…
But there’s a problem… most of us still need to work.
So, how do we balance the two?
How do we take a break and play and fulfill our commitments?

Humankind has always loved the dolphin, with its playful spirit, intelligence and intuition.
A dolphin lives in flow.
But you can too.
I explain exactly how in my latest article.

Do you view your life in ‘compartments’?
Do you file away the various aspects of your life in different “drawers”?
So, the new job goes in one place, separate from your love life and apart from your desire for more money.
But what if we abandon this compartmentalization and instead look to integrate all the different aspects of our life in one place to create a whole different way of living.
A life where the meaning of work flows into the joy of writing, the exhilaration of walking, the satisfaction of cooking a healthy meal and connecting with loved ones.
A life where all those different ‘compartments’ are not separate but flow together.
In my latest article, I will show you how to use the right and left hemispheres of your brain to create an integrated life that flows.

When it comes to work, have you ever felt ‘stretched’ between feeling overwhelmed on the one hand and bored on the other?
For us to perform at our optimal level, we need to find that ‘sweet spot’ between being overly stressed or under stimulated. To find that balance, we need to understand how our brain works—specifically the prefrontal cortex.
The PFC makes up about 10% of the volume of the brain. But just because it’s small, doesn’t mean it’s not important.
In my latest article, I explain how by maintaining just the right balance between two neurotransmitters (dopamine and norepinephrine), you can perform at the top of your game.

Many things in life need balance to perform optimally.
We need to make sure that we don’t have “too much” or “too little”.
Your brain is no exception.
Your brain must “just the right'' balance of two neurotransmitters so you can perform at the top of your game.
Without this balance, your brain functions (and performance) decline.
With this balance, you are well on your way to getting exactly what you want in life.

Did you know that every habit (good or bad) begins with a ‘cue’?
That cue, in turn, prompts a given behavior (your habit!).
A cue can be a time of day, a location or a situation.
If A, then we do B.
If we drink tea, we then eat a cookie.
Change the contextual cue, you will begin to create a new habit.
Discover how this can help you create habits of abundance and prosperity in your life…

When was the last time you took time to celebrate your brilliance?
According to Rick Hanson, the author of Buddha’s Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love and Wisdom, we need to consciously ‘take in the good’ and celebrate the positive.
When we do that, we literally strengthen our brain’s neural pathways related to positivity and celebration and become more resilient to whatever negative things might come our way.
Thoughts literally shape our brain.
Be mindful of the thoughts you nurture then.

If you are willing to listen, life gives you feedback about what is happening to you and the choices you make through your body.
It is your body–via a series of subtle emotional and physical cues–that will let you know if something feels right or not.
To connect deeply with the fullest version of yourself, you need to listen carefully to this feedback.

How many times have you heard someone say “I don’t have time.” “Things are crazy busy.” “I'll get back to you when things are less chaotic.”
Of course, we never find time. We never get less busy. Things are never less chaotic.
It’s only when we get sick, that we slow down and step off our frantic merry-go-round.
Being busy is the new currency–a social status symbol–by which we measure success.
Have you ever stopped to think about why?
Find out what’s really behind the ‘busyness’ craze in my latest blog article.
