Keysor Dad, Joshua Barnickol, participated in the Kirkwood Schools Barbecue CookOff fundraiser that was held at the Lion's Pavilion at Kirkwood Park on Sunday, May 17th. If you win the cook off, which he did, you get to pick where the ticket revenue goes and Mr. Barnickol kindly selected the Keysor PTO to receive a check for $1420! This fundraiser, which began as a Tillman parent's trivia night party, has become a yearly event. Thank you to the Kirkwood Schools Barbecue Cook Off committee for the amazing donation! Keysor Elementary kindergarteners recently received a special visit from members of the Glendale-Kirkwood Kiwanis Club as part of the club’s longstanding Early Reader Program!
Each kindergarten student received a new early reader book — a beloved tradition that has encouraged a love of reading among Kirkwood students since 2006.
Thank you to our Glendale-Kirkwood Kiwanis Club friends and community partners for continuing to invest in our youngest learners year after year!

On May 8th, our 2nd graders proudly hosted their very first Insectarium Showcase! Over the course of 4th quarter, students became insect experts by researching, reading, synthesizing information, and learning all about different insects and their habitats. To celebrate their learning, students created detailed dioramas showcasing their insect habitats and designed informational posters to teach others about their discoveries. We are so proud of the creativity, hard work, and scientific thinking our students demonstrated throughout this exciting project! That’s who we are at Keysor!

Collaboration across Kirkwood Schools was on full display through the KHS Math Club’s Elementary Math Alliance! This year, high school student leaders partnered with 5th graders at Keysor, North Glendale, and Robinson Elementary, bringing math to life through hands-on learning and creative exploration. During classroom visits in February, KHS students taught tessellation design, inspiring elementary students to turn mathematical concepts into original works of art.
After refining their projects, selected pieces were submitted to the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics Math & Art Contest. A special shoutout to Keysor Elementary’s Aura B. (1st place) and Atticus B. (4th place) for their outstanding achievements!
This partnership highlights the strength of student-to-student learning and the meaningful connections happening across all our schools.

This just in!
A true celebration of creativity, collaboration, and math across Kirkwood Schools!
Through the KHS Math Club’s Elementary Math Alliance, high school student leaders partnered this year with 5th graders at Keysor, North Glendale, and Robinson Elementary. In classroom visits, students explored tessellations through hands-on learning, games, and creative design, showing how math can be both meaningful and fun.
After refining their artwork, student projects were submitted to the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics Math & Art Contest—and Kirkwood students earned an incredible sweep of the top four spots:
🥇 1st Place: Aura B (Keysor)
🥈 2nd Place: Melanie H (Keysor)
🥉 3rd Place: Harper P (North Glendale)
🏅 4th Place: Atticus B (Keysor)
This achievement reflects the strength of collaboration between KHS students and elementary learners across our district—and the powerful ways students inspire one another through shared learning experiences.

Last night’s Keysor Choir concert at Kirkwood High School proved one thing: these kids are officially "noteworthy."
They hit the high notes, remembered all the lyrics, and enjoyed hearing the other choral performances from the choirs at North Glendale and KHS. Huge kudos to our favorite little songbirds for a pitch-perfect spring concert! And, thanks to all the parents for helping us line up, get on stage and find our seats! We couldn't do it without you!
