A moment worth celebrating! 🎓🎉

Now studying engineering at Harvard University and serving as a member of the GSA Alumni Committee, Murllin Bender shared his story with students walking the same halls he once did. Reflecting on the experience, he described it as “a powerful reminder of the lasting impact that dedicated educators and a strong educational foundation can have on young people.”

His return to Smiley Elementary was a meaningful reminder of the lasting impact educators and a strong school community can have on students long after they leave the classroom.

Alumni Hike! ⛰️

Our alumni got together for the first hike of our network yesterday at Castlewood State Park. This was an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the nature and have a moment for small conversations.

We loved getting together, catching up with friends, enjoying good food, and playing Blind Drawing. It was lovely to see all the cats… or at least your creative versions of them 😄

We are so proud of our 2026 graduates and everything they have accomplished. Graduation is one of our favorite times of the year because we get to celebrate the hard work, growth, and dedication that brought this class to such a special moment.

It was truly a GSA family gathering, with parents, teachers, staff, and alumni coming together to cheer on our newest graduates as they walked across the stage. Seeing our alumni in the stands supporting the next class made the day even more meaningful because they were once in the same shoes.

Congratulations to each and every one of you! We are so excited to celebrate you and officially welcome you into our alumni family 💙
