Time to celebrate!!! Our kiddos and parents alike had a fun 'plan B' morning yesterday (due to the downpour) commemorating the day on which the Carmelite Sisters D.C.J. opened our first home for children in Berlin in 1891. The spirit of the day was captured well in a gleeful cry from one of the children at morning prayer..."Let there be children!!!"

We are still celebrating the 40th anniversary of Carmelite Child Development Center! On September 6th, past and current Carmelite families and friends joined the Sisters for Mass and a potluck picnic. Sr. M. Benedicta, our first daycare director, was present and recognized in a special way. We are so grateful for all of the little hearts that have been formed in His Heart at Carmelite since 1985!

Our Carmelite Kids came dressed up as their favorite Saint for our “All Saint’s Day Parade”. We then went over to St. Agnes Home to showcase our Saints for the residents and our families as we sang “When the Saints Go Marching In”.

Today we have to say “see you soon” to Miss Ruth as she steps into a beautiful new chapter - marriage! While we will miss her joyful spirit and the love she has shared with our children and staff, we are excited for the blessings God has in store for her. May the Lord guide her and her husband -to -be with grace, peace and a love that continues to grow in Him. Go with our prayers, Miss Ruth! You will be deeply missed.
