Calling all 8th grade families-- we need your help one last time! We have a few volunteer spots open for our 8th grade Family Social on May 18th. We just need some help at the registration table and the always popular teacher dunk tank!

FRIDAY AFTERNOON - Batting clean up for staff appreciation week, we have “The Sandlot” and some yummy ballpark staples! ⚾️🥨🍿

It’s been such a fun week celebrating and showing our appreciation for the legends that are our Nipher teachers and staff. “Remember, kid… heroes get remembered, but legends never die.” 🏆♥️

FRIDAY MORNING - Sleepless nights call for a cup (or two) of Seattle’s finest ☕️ (“Sleepless in Seattle”) paired with delicious donuts from Des Peres’ new hot spot - Elby Donuts! 🍩😋

THURSDAY - Nipher staff are stepping into “The Secret Garden” and making an arrangement to keep the magic alive in their classroom or at home. 💐

“Forrest Gump” is also making an appearance to spread positivity, empathy, and kindness… “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” 🍫

WEDNESDAY - We kicked off the morning with “The Breakfast Club” because MAP testing mornings need a little rebellion and a LOT of coffee! ☕️

Then later that afternoon we traded in tardy bells for wedding bells with “Father of the Bride” wedding cake! 🍰

TUESDAY - We celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a “Plethora of Tacos!” and a little help from our favorite “Three Amigos”! 🌮

Our pioneer-themed giveaways paired nicely with a 1960s classic “How the West was Won”.

Staff Appreciation week is underway!
MONDAY - Blockbuster “Be Kind & Unwind” coupled with our first movie theme: Grease.

Nipher Teachers and Staff are no doubt “THE ONES THAT WE WANT!” 🎶

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Class of 2030 8th grade dance such a success! It was an Oscar-worthy night! ⭐️🎥🍿📸💃🏻

PTO Volunteer Request: Staff Appreciation Week (May 4-8)
Hello, Nipher parents!

Please consider volunteering your time and/or creative skills to help make the 2026 Nipher Staff Appreciation week one that will impress the Academy! As we all know, Nipher teachers and staff are STARS in every role they fulfill! Building off the 8th grade dance theme of "Hollywood Red Carpet", we are taking our teachers back in time to Blockbuster - encouraging them to "Be Kind and UNWIND" - featuring a few movie classics!

Each day will feature two "movie showings" - some more elaborate than others!

We are looking for folks to volunteer at school to help with set up, clean up, pick up food items, etc. as well as some volunteers to flex their creative/artistic skills to help prep decor for each theme at their convenience from home.
