Recently the Missouri Attorney General’s Office issued changes concerning local health departments and quarantined individuals. To read the statement from the Missouri Attorney General's Office please visit: https://bit.ly/33hDmNR.
This change means the health department must release all individuals, including students and staff, who are currently quarantined for close contact by the Adair County Health Department. Individuals can return to school if they are asymptomatic or have a negative COVID test.
This doesn't change the protocol for those who have tested positive for COVID. Those individuals will still be excluded from school until the 10-day contagious period is over. The school will be following Board Policy EBB to exclude students and staff from school who test positive for COVID for the 10-day contagious period. We are working with families and will continue to ask adults and students to self isolate if they are experiencing COVID symptoms.
If you have any questions, please call the Central Office at 660-665-7774.

Work Experience is a program offered to Juniors and Seniors at Kirksville High School, that provides opportunities for students to develop job skills and experience different types of workplace settings. Students are accompanied by job coaches daily to local businesses, where they are able to learn about the expectations and skill sets required for that place of employment. Instead of a paycheck, students earn credits toward graduation. Students are assessed each week on their performance while on the job. The experiences students have in this program help them discover their strengths, develop their skills, and realize their potential.
This month’s featured student is Venus Al-Sairafi. Venus is a Junior at KHS and is doing her work experience at Kirksville Part Day Head Start. Venus spends her time there helping with breakfast preparations and clean up, and assisting in ‘circle time’ with the preschoolers. Venus says her favorite part about her job is helping the kids. She also enjoys the comradery with the employees. They have been supportive and encouraging to Venus in pursuing her goal of working in a preschool setting.
Congratulations Venus, and keep up the great work!
Thank you Kirksville Part Day Head Start for your support and participation in our program.
If you are or know a business owner, please reach out to us. Your business would be providing our students valuable experiences and in turn - create a potential pool of future employees.
Please contact KHS at (660) 665-4631 or email [email protected]
