Adopt-A-Child is a program that helps give Christmas gifts to more than 400 children in Adair County who might not get one otherwise. Children from newborn to age 16 can take part in the program.

Families can sign up at Community Action Partnership of Northeast Missouri (CAPNEMO), located at 215 S. Elson St. in Kirksville.

Registration is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or by calling 660-665-9855 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The last day to register is December 16.

Only a child’s legal guardian can apply. Please bring proof of guardianship, proof of SNAP benefits, and a list of the names and ages of children in your household. You can get this information from the Adair County Family Services Office.

Community members can “adopt” a child by contacting the Kirksville Fire Department or local radio stations KTUF/KIRX/KRXL to provide gifts.
Donations of toys, candy, wrapping paper, or money are also welcome.

Adopt-A-Child is sponsored by the Kirksville Firefighters Local 2952, 93.7 FM KTUF/KIRX/KRXL, and CAPNEMO.

Our you looking for child care for your infant? We currently have openings. We also have a full time emplyment floater position that has opened up. You can apply at the center, call me at 660-665-2504, message me or email me at [email protected].

The center will be closed Monday September 1st. Also, no kids this week as we are having our reset week. Staff be doing cpr/first aid training, other online DESE training and cleaning classroom. We see everyone back on Monday September 8th. Have great week.
