In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, 161,361 children in the State of Missouri, find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you.

Robert Yawson has been selected as Truman's next dean of the School of Business and Professional Studies. Yawson joins Truman with more than 30 years of experience in teaching, research and service. He has held several leadership roles and earned local, national and international recognition for his work in leadership and human resource development.

Alumni Spotlight: Each year, the Rockwood School District selects three building-level Teachers of the Year. We’re proud to share that two Truman State University MAE alumni were honored! Congratulations to middle school vocal music educator Jennifer Houchins (LaSalle Springs Middle) and high school science teacher Sarah Moonier (Rockwood Summit High) on this incredible achievement.
