Reminder that we have an open house on Sunday for any families interested in Prairie Song!

High school chemistry students did a simulation lab to find the half-life of an atom to extend their understanding of radioactivity. We’re tying our study of nuclear chemistry to current events in Iran, too; multidisciplinarity is standard for us!

High school chemistry students did a version of the classic macromolecule lab, solving a murder mystery by analyzing (simulated) stomach contents!

Geometry fun exploring triangles, figuring out answers to questions like can you make a triangle with two right angles? Two obtuse angles? Three acute angles? Since they experiment to figure this out for themselves, they remember it!

Applications to the lottery for Fall 2026 are open, and our open house for interested families is coming up on Sunday, April 19th! Note that this is a change from the original date of the 12th! We can’t wait to meet potential new families!

Here are a couple of junior high students doing morning multiples practice with some of our upper elementary students! The cross-age connections and built-in mentoring opportunities are among our favorite things about Prairie Song!

Upper El made their annual trip to the Literature Festival last week, seeing presentations by authors , , and ! We read Johnson’s The Parker Inheritance before seeing him, and have jumped into Burgess’ Danilo Was Here this week! This trip is never complete without visits to the herpetarium, the art gallery, playing tag on the quad, and rolling down the hill in front of Centennial…plus a trip to the bookstore to buy all the amazing books by the participating authors!

We thought our lower el students were making snow sculptures…and they might have been…before they turned them into obstacles to jump over! So much snow fun!
