In this episode of Insightful Questions, Head of School Sam Uzwack is joined by EPS faculty member Gaylynn Lynch, Jamie Andrus, Assistant Director of Student Well-Being, and Dr. John Stegeman, Head of Upper School. They discuss ensuring that every EPS student feels seen and supported and how clarity in expectation, communication, and care helps create a more connected school environment. They also discuss finding balance at school. As Dr. Stegeman notes, “If we can center the student, the human being, in the conversation about balance, it’s a way of reducing the complexity of the conversation…We want to have all parts of our experience and identity validated. And when it is, the equilibrium appears.” Listen now on Spotify, Amazon, or Apple Podcasts!

Over the weekend, the EPS US Science Olympiad Team experienced great success at their regional competition! Our Blue Team, which consists of 15 members who competed in 24 events, got 10th Place Overall (out of 25 teams), and nearly advanced to the State Level. Our Gold Team, which has 11 members, competed in 14 of the events and did an outstanding job. We are so proud of this team (majority 9th and 10th graders) on a brand-new team competing against older students with more years of experience. Way to go, Science Olympiad!
