The secret is out! ๐ Little Galaxy is officially 4 years old! ๐โจ
Remember that delicious cake our little chefs were working so hard on? We baked it to celebrate our 4th anniversary! ๐
Watching the kids cut and share the cake they proudly made themselves was the perfect way to mark this milestone. It is a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do - fostering independence, joy, and a sense of community through hands-on learning.
Four years of messy play, big milestones, and endless giggles wouldn't be possible without a village. I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude:
โ๐ To our amazing families -Thank you for your unwavering trust and for sharing your incredible Little Galaxy stars with us every single day.
๐ To my wonderful family and friends - Thank you for always being there for me helping organizing our events, and be the absolute best support on this journey. I couldn't do this without you all !
๐ To our fellow educators and community- Thank you for following along, cheering us on, and sharing in our deep passion for early childhood education.
Here is to many more years of growing, learning, and celebrating together! ๐๐ฐ

Whisking up something VERY special!!!! ๐๐๐
Nothing brings a classroom together quite like collaborative baking! Today, our little chefs worked together to mix, pour, and whisk up a beautiful homemade cake.
We baked this delicious cake to celebrate a huge milestone our Galaxy reaching... can you guess what we are celebrating? ๐
DIY Sticky Ball Piรฑata! ๐
We brought our ball pit outdoors today and added a fun twist! We made a ring out of sticky tape, on a small hula hoop and hung it up like a piรฑata, and let the kids loose. They had an absolute blast jumping to grab the balls and sticking them right back on.
This is such a simple setup, but it packs a big punch for development! While they were busy playing, they were actually practicing on their grass motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and their early math skills.๐ด๐ต
Want a secret to getting toddlers to eat their lunch? Let them cook it! ๐ฉโ๐ณ๐ฎ( Watch these little hands at work!)
Today we made our own tortillas/rotis. The kids did the heavy lifting of squeezing, pinching, and rolling the dough, and we handled the hot stove.
๐ก Why this is magic for toddlers:
The Pre-Writing Workout- Kneading dough builds the exact hand muscles kids will eventually need to hold a pencil and use scissors.
Picky eaters are way more likely to try the food they built themselves!
Tips for parents - You don't need a perfect recipe. Just flour, water, and a pinch of salt is enough to give them a dough ball to explore while you cook the real meal!
โญโญโญโญโญ Thank you! โญโญโญโญโญ

Splashing into some fine motor fun! ๐
We cut up colorful sponges to look like little lemon wedges and put our handy lemon squeezers to work. This simple sensory invitation is incredible for building hand strength, bilateral coordination, and squeezing skill. The kids absolutely loved watching the water explode out of their "lemons"!

๐บ๐ธ Honoring & Remembering ๐บ๐ธ
This Memorial Day, all of us at Little Galaxy want to express our deepest gratitude to the brave heroes who served and sacrificed for our country.
Because of their courage and dedication, we are blessed with the freedom we enjoy todayโa freedom that allows our children to grow up safely, learn joyfully, and live wonderful, happy lives. We don't take that for granted.
Wishing all of our wonderful families a safe, meaningful, and peaceful Memorial Day weekend! โจ
Let's build a pyramid..๐ผ
Using red cups and blue cups, the children practiced their fine motor skills and patience by stacking them into a four-three-two-one pyramid. This hands-on activity is actually a wonderful way for them to explore foundational math concepts like sorting, patterns, and spatial awareness, all while figuring out how to balance the cups so the tower wouldn't tumble.
Circle time book reading ๐
Reading books like "Lee the Bee, Turn Off the TV" is a wonderful way for kids to learn and grow! As they listen, they pick up new words, practice sitting still, and learn how to connect the story to their own livesโlike switching from TV time to playing outside.
Outdoor wagon ride fun!!
Our "Little Stars" had an absolute blast with our outdoor wagon rides! This simple activity is a powerhouse for development, helping children build gross motor strength and coordination as they practice pulling and steering. Itโs also a wonderful way to foster social-emotional skills, as the children learn to take turns, cooperate, and care for one another during the ride.
