This week, our students explored what they like—and why! They had the opportunity to try new activities and foods, helping them broaden their horizons and discover new interests.

Trying new things helps children build confidence, step outside their comfort zones, and become more open to new experiences. We’re so proud of our students for being curious, brave, and willing to explore! 🌟

The King County Library on Wheels rolled up to our school today, and it was an absolute blast!
Our students (and teachers!) had a wonderful time stepping inside, exploring the shelves, and picking out a tons of fresh, exciting books for our classrooms. Nothing beats that “brand-new library book” feeling!
A huge thank you to the King County Library System for bringing the magic of reading right to our parking lot. Our classroom reading nooks are officially fully stocked! Check out how happy Ms. Min is at the end of the video checking out 10 books for her children📖🎉

🌱This week in our Wonder of Learning Curriculum: students continue to learn about themselves by exploring all the different ways they can move! Some are discovering how to move like different animals, while others are practicing walking, balancing, and developing their coordination. Our older students are strengthening their fine motor skills needed for writing, and of course, no week of movement would be complete without dancing the wiggles out! It’s wonderful to see everyone building confidence, coordination, and body awareness through play and movement. 🤗

This week was all about ME! ⭐️ Our students explored who they are and learned more about their bodies and what makes each of them unique. They had opportunities to compare similarities and differences with their friends and family members, building an appreciation for the many ways we are alike and wonderfully different. 💛

✨ How BIG is big? Our students had fun exploring measurements this week!

They worked together to compare the sizes of objects, each other, and even reflected on how much they’ve grown since the beginning of last school year! 📏🌱

We used different materials to measure and compare sizes. This helped us stretch our thinking toward bigger numbers, bigger ideas, and bigger ways of understanding the world! ⭐️ 🌎

Every Goddard class has their own schedule, but here’s a peek of how a day can look:

9am: Morning meeting ☀️
Songs, check-ins and questions spark curiosity and connection.

11am: Outdoor Learning & Play 🍃
Climb, dig, build and explore the natural world.

12pm: Lunch! 🍎
Time to refuel and connect.

3pm: Learning Centers 🎨
Choice-driven play builds independence and imagination.

The thing about a Goddard preschooler is they’re going to be curious. Keep the questions coming 👏

Personally, we’d hire them as videographers 📹

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
