NEW CLASSES ALERT! 🚨 Check out these two new upcoming classes with Andrea M Castillo starting May 7 at KPC Studios!
Anatomy of Music is a beginner’s guide to the DNA of sound. In this class, we’ll strip away the intimidation of traditional music theory and explore how rhythm, melody, chords, and structure work together to create the songs you love. Whether you’re a songwriter or composer looking to add to your composition toolbelt or just an avid music fan who wants to gain a deeper understanding of the science behind your favorite tunes, come and experience the living, breathing wonders of music in this approachable six-week course.
The KPCU Song Lab is a guided, collaborative workshop led by local musician Drea Marilyn that’s designed for songwriters and musicians to bring their works-in-progress into a live, communal environment. Part feedback session, part low-stakes acoustic jam, the Song Lab is where your songs find their missing pieces. Need a fresh set of ears on a bridge? Or perhaps you’ve always wondered what your piano ballad would sound like with a lead guitarist. The Song Lab is your space to experiment, iterate, and play.
