Twas the night before EOGs, and all through the house,
Not a student was cramming, not even with a mouse.
The backpacks were packed and the pencils were ready,
The goal for tomorrow was calm, focused, and steady.
The children got tucked into bed nice and tight,
For a good night of sleep helps your brain shine bright.
No staying up late with games, phones, or TV glow,
Because rested young minds are prepared best to show
All the learning and growing accomplished this year—
So close your eyes early, the big day is here!

When morning arrived with the sun shining bright,
The students woke up feeling cheerful and light.
They ate a good breakfast to fuel up their brains,
Then hurried to school through sunshine or rain.
“Be here by 8:00!” the teachers all say,
“So everyone’s ready to start off the day.”
Then pencils started moving, and students did their best,
Showing all they had learned on the big EOG test.
And the teachers called out with smiles full of pride,
“Just try your hardest—we’re right by your side!”

Celebrating our Rockets is the best part of the year! So proud of our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade students for their hard work, perseverance, and character this year. Keep soaring!

Our Rockets are Glowing It UP for our End of Year Assessments! We celebrated with a pep rally on Friday to kick off our assessments. KHS marching Vikings started us off, followed by grade level presentations. From encouragement and testing taking tips, to dancing to show we will ‘whip’ our EOGs, grade levels presented their own tips for glowing on these assessments. Our students are ready for end of year testing. Let’s Glow Rockets!

3rd Grade- May 21st, 11:30am (doors open at 11:10)

4th Grade- May 22nd, 1:00pm (doors open at 12:40)

5th Grade- June 9th, 9:00am (doors open at 8:20)

You asked, we listened!

LCPS is excited to expand our Non-Congregate Summer Meal Program this year with more convenient pickup options, including Grainger Stadium, and an additional pickup day to better serve our families.

Families who register will receive five breakfasts and five lunches per week for each enrolled child, with distribution on either Monday or Wednesday (please select only one preferred pickup day). Meal service begins Monday, June 22, 2026, with pickup available from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Only a parent, guardian, or the enrolled child may pick up meals. If you miss your Monday pickup, you may still collect meals on Wednesday. Meals not picked up on Wednesday will be forfeited. Some locations will also offer delivery with designated Monday drop-off times.

¡Ustedes pidieron, nosotros escuchamos!
LCPS se complace en ampliar este año nuestro Programa de Comidas de Verano sin Aglomeraciones, ofreciendo opciones de recogida más convenientes —incluyendo el Grainger Stadium—, así como un día de recogida adicional para servir mejor a nuestras familias.

Las familias que se registren recibirán cinco desayunos y cinco almuerzos por semana por cada niño inscrito, con distribución los lunes o los miércoles (por favor, seleccione solo un día de recogida de su preferencia). El servicio de comidas comienza el lunes 22 de junio de 2026, con recogida disponible de 9:30 a. m. a 11:00 a. m.

Solo un padre, tutor o el niño inscrito podrá recoger las comidas. Si no acude a su recogida del lunes, aún podrá recoger las comidas el miércoles. Las comidas que no se recojan el miércoles se perderán. Algunas ubicaciones también ofrecerán servicio de entrega a domicilio, con horarios designados para el reparto los lunes.
