🌱 Did you know Hope Prep offers a gardening class?

Under the guidance of Mrs. Himes and Mrs. Jones, our students are discovering the wonders of God’s creation through hands-on learning in our North Carolina garden.

From exploring oak trees and acorns to learning how cotton and sweet potatoes grow, our students are developing a deeper understanding of the natural world. They have also met our friendly garden spider, harvested field peas, and planted carrot and beet seeds!

Gardening cultivates curiosity, patience, responsibility, observation, and critical thinking while providing meaningful opportunities to apply scientific knowledge in real-world settings.

At Hope Prep, these experiences complement the benefits of a classical education, which emphasizes the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty while cultivating wisdom, virtue, and a lifelong love of learning. By connecting knowledge with hands-on discovery, we encourage our students to think deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and appreciate the world around them.

We are grateful for the knowledge, dedication, and enthusiasm Mrs. Himes and Mrs. Jones bring to our students. Their instruction makes learning both meaningful and memorable!

🏛️ Bringing History to Life at Tryon Palace! 🇺🇸

On Oct 7th, our fourth graders traveled to Tryon Palace in New Bern for an exciting hands-on learning experience that connected perfectly with our American History studies!

Built in 1770, Tryon Palace served as North Carolina’s first permanent capitol and was home to Royal Governor William Tryon. Today, it offers a glimpse into colonial life and an important chapter in our state’s history.

A huge shoutout to our amazing tour guide, Shane, for bringing history to life! Seeing historic rooms, architecture, and artifacts up close gave our students the opportunity to step beyond the pages of a textbook and experience history in a meaningful way. History becomes so much more memorable when students can see where it happened and imagine what life was like during that time!

What a beautiful day to celebrate our incredible Hope Preparatory partners! 💚

Our partners help make it possible for a child to attend school. Throughout the year, they remain connected with their student through letters and updates, and each fall and spring, we have the privilege of welcoming them to campus for a special visit.

Today, our partners received an update on the school, toured classrooms, enjoyed a wonderful performance by our choir, and participated in a meaningful acorn-planting activity. 🌱

The acorn planting carries special significance at Hope Preparatory. Inspired by our Hope Prep Declaration, the acorns represent the seeds of knowledge, faith, and opportunity being planted in the lives of our students. As the Declaration reminds us, these seeds have the potential to grow into strong oaks of righteousness—young people equipped to make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.

When our partners return in the spring, we’ll have the opportunity to see how many acorns have sprouted and begun to grow—a beautiful reminder that meaningful growth takes time, care, and commitment.

We are deeply grateful for each of our partners, donors, and supporters. Your generosity and continued investment in the Hope Prep family are helping our students grow, thrive, and pursue a brighter future. We truly could not do this work without you! 💚🌱

🫖 A Tea-rific Day!

Our 1st grade students had a wonderful time at their tea party last Friday! We so enjoyed seeing everyone dressed in their best and ready to celebrate together.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped make this day so special. The beautiful decorations were absolutely adorable and created a welcoming atmosphere for our students to enjoy.

Experiences like these provide valuable opportunities for children to practice social skills, conversation, manners, confidence, and positive interactions with their classmates. More importantly, these special moments help create lasting memories that students will carry with them throughout their school years.

P31 stands for Proverbs 31—a class designed to help our young girls develop the characteristics of a Proverbs 31 woman: dignity, patience, diligence, generosity, courage, wisdom, and devotion.

Through creativity, hands-on projects, and practical skills, these girls are learning to cultivate character while discovering the joy of creating and working with their hands.

So thankful to Mrs. Bayless for bringing creativity and joy to P31 and for investing so intentionally in the lives of these girls. What a blessing to encourage the next generation to grow in wisdom, character, and devotion to the Lord. 🌿

We are SO proud of our 2nd graders—all of them passed their math test! 🎉

We love celebrating the big and little moments throughout the day, but seeing everyone do well in math is definitely a HUGE win! We are so thankful for all our students who show up, work hard, and continue to give their best.

Way to go, 2nd grade! We are so proud of you! Praise the Lord! 🙌

🍎 Our second grade class is learning what makes up an apple!

They discovered that an apple has skin, flesh (the part we eat), seeds, a stem, and a core. They learned how each part has a special purpose and how apples grow from blossoms into the delicious fruit we enjoy!

One of the things we love about classical education is the flexibility to create hands-on moments like this—giving students the opportunity to connect the information they are learning to the physical item right in front of them. When they can see it, touch it, examine it, and experience it, learning becomes so much more meaningful!

What an amazing Creator we have! God’s creation is full of beauty, purpose, and details—even in something as simple as an apple. How amazing is God’s creation! 🍎
