Hey Brothers and Sisters of the Great Class of 1981. We have lost 3 Classmates this year and it is only April 2020. Debra Haynes, Odell Ganeus, and Isaiah Croom. Let's continue to keep their family and friends included in our prayers. Some of you, i have not seen since Graduation, but i do pray that each of you are doing well physically and mentally. Yesterday is gone, and tomorrow is not promised, so i say that i love each of you , and Gods Blessings to your life!!!! Stay safe!!!

I have had many calls, emails, and messages regarding the cancellation of our class reunion . In an effort to just get together and fellowship many have requested that we gather on February 25, 2012 at the Golden Corral in Kinston at approximately 6:30 p.m. This would allow those that wanted to get together to do so without breaking anyone's wallet. They can block off an area of the restaurant for just our group allowing some privacy. Therefore, if there is only 10 classmates that's fine, if there is 25 classmates that's great, if there is 50 classmates that's super, if there is 75 classmate -YAY!!! we will migrate to another venue. Many feel it is just important to fellowship and catch up before we loose anymore precious time and classmates! Perhaps at that gathering a more formal reunion can be discussed and decided. Hope to see everyone real soon!!!!

Attention Classmates of SLHS 1981 - First, please know that Greg Smith, Gena Jones, Mary Johnson Perry, Christi Quinn Smith, and Jeff Hill (Pink Hill-Jeff Hill) and others have headed up the past 4 reunions. They rose to the challenge without complaints and enjoyed organizing each reunion. At the last reunion a request was made for others to please step up and take over this tremendous task. However, to date we have not had any takes but we have had several class members have inquiried about plans for a 30 year reunion. I was asked to send out a FB announcement regarding true interest. Greg Smith, Gena Jones, and I met briefly last week and tossed around a few ideas. I think everyone is happy to organize a "late" reunion but before they put forth a lot of time the committee wanted to poll the class to see about ideas. Gena is checking on tentative plans for February 25, 2012 at The Chef and the Farmer in Kinston, NC. If you are interested, have suggestions, would like to volunteer in heading up this reunion, and/or in agreement with tentative plans to proceed with Chef and the Farmer, please inbox a message to Greg Smith, Gena Jones, or myself. Looking forward to hearing from all of you and seeing you soon!!!! :)
