SEVEN | Series One
Something new is taking shape at UN-Artworks.
At this time in my life, I am all about what brings me joy... and what can foster community joy and collaboration, which I think we desperately need.
To that end, I conjured up this idea: The SEVEN Series. At first, I started with five but settled on seven as the perfect number. As some of you may know, seven is a number that signifies completion.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be inviting seven poets to participate in SEVEN | Series One, a small UN-Artworks creative collaboration.
This is Series One because I hope there will be a Series Two—but I’m getting ahead of myself. 😊
Anyway, my idea is to bring together the work of seven poets with seven visual responses, creating seven numbered pieces of each.
Each invited poet will choose one poem, fresh ink or previously published, and I’ll create an original visual response to the work.
The poet and artist will approve the finished piece together before it becomes a limited edition of seven.
One will stay with the poet.
One will become part of the UN-Artworks collection that I will maintain.
Five will go out into the world as gifts to select UN-Artists.
This is not a contest or a call for submissions. I’ll be reaching out personally to poets whose work I’d like to explore through this process.
