Our second scholarship of 2022 for a total of $500 has been given to our recipient, Da’Niyiah!

Da’Niyiah Bunch graduated from John A. Holmes High School. She will be attending Fayetteville State University in the fall, where she will be a first-generation college student majoring in Kindergarten Education.

One important factor of this scholarship is for the recipient to strive to give back to their community. Da’Niyiah has stated, "I understand how hard it is to access affordable help for children’s education so since i am majoring in education I will try to rent a community building and tutor there free of charge. I know it will be a challenge for sure because a lot of children respond differently to learning but with the help of other individuals and schools in my community there will be no limit to how much progress we will see with younger children's testing scores and learning strategies.”

Congratulations, Da’Niyiah! 🤍💙

Our third scholarship of 2021 for a total of $500 has been given to our recipient, Brianna!

Brianna Thompson graduated from Greensboro Day School. She will be attending The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the fall, where she will be a first-generation college student majoring in Exercise and Sports Science.

One important factor of this scholarship is for the recipient to strive to give back to their community. Brianna has stated, "With the Covid-19 restrictions lifted, I plan to coordinate a volleyball clinic for girls in my community free of charge. This pandemic has caused a lot of economic instability and I would like to offer kids a way to exercise and have fun without creating an extra financial burden for families. My only request for the girls is that they bring in canned goods to donate to the Greensboro Urban Ministry, because our homeless population is extremely struggling right now and it is important that our community help them in anyway possible.”

Congratulations, Brianna!
