School is out for the summer! Here is an update on Ariana Margil, 2025 recipient of a Mu Pi Chapter Recruitment Grant. Ariana just finished her freshman year at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville where she is majoring in education with a minor in core EC-6. Her goal is to become a teacher and be the first member of her family to graduate college. She has had a fabulous start, making Dean’s List both semesters. Ariana says, “I’ve been busy looking for a job and taking summer classes right now. My first year of college was amazing, and I definitely enjoyed it. My favorite part was finding my friends, and being more independent.” Next semester she will be living in an on campus apartment with the freshman roommate. She plans on taking 15 hours that are all education classes: special education supports, foundations of literacy, Texas government, foundations of math 3, and world lit 2. Mu Pi Chapter is honored to have invested in this extraordinary young woman and ambitious future teacher. Best wishes, Ariana! Great job!

School is out for the summer! Time to catch up with Emma Luczkowski, a 2025 recipient of a Mu Pi Recruitment Grant. Emma just completed her freshman year in the piney woods of East Texas at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches where she is studying to be a teacher. Emma reports, “I had such an amazing time this past year! Not only did I meet some amazing people and learn some amazing things, but I also got to do so many amazing activities.” (Editor’s note: that is a lot of amazing, which is wonderful to hear. ☺️.) Emma says one thing that was genuinely rewarding was when she and a couple of new college friends were instrumental in re-establishing SFA’s chapter of a faith-based sisterhood called Sigma Phi Lambda. She says, “Although a lot of work it has truly been so rewarding to build such a faithful community.” Next year, Emma looks forward to continuing her studies, serving as an officer for Sigma Phi Lambda, as well as continuing to explore all that SFA has to offer. Mu PI Chapter applauds the development of leadership skills this future educator has exhibited during her first year of college and wishes her continued success. Well done, Emma!
