Preston County Schools will be closed on Thursday, February 27, 2020. National Weather is telling us snow will begin between 9 and 10 this evening. Temps are to drop into the lower 20’s, which will cause the wet roads to freeze. Higher elevations can get up to 6 inches of snow with lower elevations averaging 2 - 4 inches. Combine all of this with 40 mph wind gusts and we could have a mess. Although I know the forecast could turn out to be a total bust and it could amount to nothing, I would rather make the call early so that parents can make arrangements for their children tomorrow. Hopefully, this will be the last one for the year and spring comes early. Stay safe and warm and we will get back on Friday.

Preston County Schools will be closed on Friday, February 7, 2020. There is a possibility of ice and snow beginning at 5:00 a.m. Additionally, there have been many documented influenza cases within our schools. We will work to do a thorough cleaning within our schools while students and staff are out of the building. Please be sure you are washing your hands regularly. That is the best defense.
