📢 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT – CNA CLASS IN LITTLE RIVER, SC! 🩺

Looking to start a career in healthcare? LCMTC is now enrolling for our upcoming CNA class in the Little River area! We must have 5 or more enrollments to run the class!

📅 Class Dates: September 19, 2026 – November 8, 2026
📚 Class Days: Saturdays & Sundays
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

⚠️ We need a minimum of 5 students for the class to run!
We currently have 1 student enrolled, so we need more students to sign up!

💰 FUNDING ASSISTANCE MAY BE AVAILABLE!

If you receive SNAP benefits, you may be eligible for assistance through SNAP2WORK. You can visit our main office:

You will complete a 60-question practice exam to determine your current level, and then complete your enrollment application.

Other Funding Resources 💰
If you do not currently receive SNAP benefits, there are other organizations that may be able to assist with funding, including:

🔹 Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) – You may qualify if you have a medical condition or receive prescription medication. Examples may include high blood pressure, anxiety, diabetes, allergies, or other conditions that require medication.

🔹 SC Works (WIOA) – Visit your local SC Works office to begin the process of determining your eligibility for WIOA funding.

🔹 Palmetto Goodwill (SNAP2WORK) – Another great resource to explore for possible training assistance.

IMPORTANT: Please visit the funding agency you choose before coming to enroll so you can begin the funding approval process. Once you are approved, you can come to our Kingstree office to complete your enrollment for the CNA class.

⏰ PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!
Class slots are limited, and funding approval can take time. Waiting until the class start date may not allow enough time to complete the funding process.

Public Announcement: November 2026 LPN Cohort

LowCountry Medical Training Center, LLC (LCMTC) is committed to providing our students with the highest quality nursing education, training, and preparation for successful careers in healthcare.

Our first Top Flight LPN Nursing Program cohort began on August 3, 2026. As we continue to evaluate and strengthen our curriculum, instructional systems, and overall student experience, our nursing staff has made the decision to postpone the November 9, 2026 LPN cohort until February 2027.

This decision was made with our students’ best interests in mind. We believe that well-educated, highly trained, and confident nurses are essential to the healthcare profession, and we are committed to building a program that reflects those standards from our very first cohort and every cohort thereafter.

We are also looking forward to offering morning and afternoon class options beginning in February 2027, pending final scheduling and program arrangements.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support as we work to build a strong and successful nursing program.

Information About Clinical Medical Assistant Class at LCMTC

What Has Changed:
As you may know, the law governing Clinical Medical Assistants in South Carolina has changed, effective July 1, 2026. Our program has been reviewed for compliance.

We received the following official notification:

Sponsor Alignment with SC Law for Certified Medical Assistant
To: LowCountry Medical Training Center
This letter serves as official notification that your registered apprenticeship program for the occupation of Certified Medical Assistant has been reviewed and found to be in full compliance with the South Carolina Code of Laws, Title 40 - Professions and Occupations, Chapter 47, Physicians and Miscellaneous Health Care Professionals, Section 40-47-20. Based on confirmation from a member of the South Carolina Senate Medical Affairs Committee, your program satisfies the requirements outlined in Section 40-47-20, (58), (1), including items (a, b, c, d, and e), which detail the acceptable training paths for academic and clinical preparation necessary to become a Certified Medical Assistant in South Carolina.
Section 40-47-20, (58), (2), items (a and b) further stipulate that individuals who fulfill the provisions of subpart (1) must maintain current certification from an approved certifying body.

What This Means for You:
Effective as of July 1, 2026
1. Upon completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion (COC) from LowCountry Medical Training Center (LCMTC) and a Certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), verifying your certification and training.
2. South Carolina implemented this requirement to ensure proper training. Previously, individuals were able to test as a Medical Assistant without verifiable work history. This new process ensures all training is documented and compliant. It also protects you, as you attend clinical without direct school supervision.
3. This is the first year LCMTC will be issuing the USDOL COC, so future cohorts will follow this same process.

Your Next Steps:
1. Clinical Documentation: When you begin clinicals, you will need both my sign-off sheet and the USDOL sign-off sheet which is 288 hours.
2. Work Process Schedule: After you complete clinicals and testing, you will begin the Work Process Schedule. While you are employed and earning hours as a CMA, your supervisor will document your hours. You must complete a minimum of 190.50 hours in each of the 21 categories, for a total of 4,000 hours.
3. Once completed, you will submit the form to the USDOL, and they will email you your statewide Certificate of Completion.
4. Employment: If you have not yet secured employment as a Medical Assistant, I strongly encourage you to do so. We will be entering all students into the database as soon as possible. Some of our studnets are already in the system and may have received an email — please check your inbox. If you are currently employed, please fill out the required documents and turn them in and we will make sure they are uploaded in RAPID.

If you complete the Clinical Medical Assistant course in 2026 at LCMTC or you are in clinicals or still in class call us or email us your email address where we can add you on a zoom at 6:00pm tonight August 14 about some important information. This is for allll areas, Greenville, Charleston, Sumter, Little River, etc. This is not BAD news. You may want to hear this for yourself. 😍
