curriculum-based professional learning, including workshops, coaching, and mentoring, for kindergarten through eighth-grade educators focusing on science education. The GEMS-Net partnership, part of the Feinstein College of Education at the University of Rhode Island, supports the implementation of high-quality science programming within partnering school districts across the state of Rhode Island.

Getting ready to start a new school year!

Our first day of OpenSciEd orientations were a success! What a beautiful day for outdoor learning! Teacher who are new to our partnership, or have no yet had OpenSciEd professional learning from GEMS-Net wee invited to orientations this spring. This is a first look at the new curriculum! Unit specific professional learning will continue in the fall!

This April, the GEMS-Net team presented multiple workshop sessions at the National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) National Conference in Anaheim, CA! What an amazing experience to meet and collaborate with so many educators and educational vendors from across the country. We even got to see the beautiful Pacific Ocean!

GEMS-Net team members participated in URI's Day at the State House on March 26th! It was a wonderful day showcasing and celebrating the departments and organizations within URI's community and the university's broader impact on the state as a whole.
