The first day of school is September 8th, and Dr. Scorca is here with some important announcements, including some significant changes to how our day will begin!

‼️KHSTV will be moved to 2nd period, meaning first period begins at 7:45! Students are expected to in their first period class ready to learn at 7:45, as teachers will begin their lessons.

‼️In an effort to maximize student attendance and minimize tardies, students will be given detention after five tardies. It’s imperative our students are seated in their first period class at 7:45 when class begins.

‼️Ninth period will play a larger role this year to make up work, get extra help, and maintain passing grades. Students should plan to stay ninth period with their teachers and not solely rely on making work up through Teams.

And other reminders:
🐯Be sure to have your ID everyday! It should be worn on your body and visible between the shoulders and waist.
🐯KHS is still a cell phone free zone, so YONDR pouches are still in use. Be sure to lock your pack upon entry, and unlock as you leave.
🐯Freshman Orientation is 8/25, and our Class of 2030 are invited to join either the 10:00-12:00 session or 5:30-7:30 in the evening.

Football is already underway, but the rest of our fall sports begin Monday, August 24th! All athletes must meet in the Field House at 8:00 prior to attending their tryout. Good luck!

🐯🚨‼️Do you plan on playing a fall sport? Still need a physical? Time is running out!

Thursday, August 20th, is the LAST day for sports physicals provided by the district! All athletes must have an updated physical to be cleared to participate.

Any fall student athlete who needs a physical can go to KHS security between 8am - 10am on 8/20 to be seen. Please be sure to bring have a student ID.

🐯We are just one week away from welcoming the Class of 2030 at Freshman Orientation! We can’t wait to see you!

The sweet sounds of August have arrived, and that means we’re getting ready to welcome a new crew to KHS! We hope our incoming freshmen can join us Tuesday, August 25th, for orientation!

Parents are encouraged to attend with their child. If you’re unable to make either time, give the school a call and we can arrange a time for you to come in.

🐯🏈JV & Varsity Football starts Monday, 8/17! There is a mandatory meeting at 3pm at the KHS Fieldhouse. All athletes must be registered & cleared to participate.

All other JV & Varsity athletics will begin Monday, August 24th. Time & locations will be posted later this week. Please continue to register & submit paperwork to be medically cleared.

☀️ Spreading sunshine and kindness in our community!

This past Thursday, August 13, members of the Kingston High School club, "Hope on a Mission," delivered hand-crafted gift baskets to patients undergoing cancer treatments at the Westchester Medical Center Health Infusion Center in Kingston. Their goal? To bring smiles and comfort to patients currently undergoing cancer treatments. 💛

Throughout the past school year, club members worked to raise funds for this special project. Thanks to everyone’s support, members were able to purchase and assemble these care baskets, designed to provide comfort, distraction, and a touch of brightness during long treatment sessions.

Each basket was thoughtfully packed with items including:

🌟Coloring and crossword puzzle books
🌟Journals and pens
🌟Face masks, makeup, and moisturizing chapstick
🌟Hard candies to soothe treatment side effects
🌟Personalized, handwritten notes from Hope on a Mission members

We are so proud of these students for dedicating their time to lifting up others when they need it most. Thank you to the WMCHealth Infusion Center for helping us share some love!

✅ Already registered? Be sure to check your email - the one that was provided during registration - which will notify cleared/missing items. Nurses will communicate by email for any additional items needed.
