Join the University of Rhode Island Concert Choir! Concert Choir is URI's auditioned choral ensemble, and we are looking for new members in all voice parts. Come be a part of the tradition! Auditions for Concert Choir will take place Thursday, September 10 between 2 and 3:15, in the new Choral Rehearsal Room in the FIne Arts Center: G100. The audition is self-contained; you do not need to prepare anything. There will be a short form to fill out, and time slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The audition itself will take approximately ten minutes. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mark Conley at [email protected] .

Dr. Luis Viquez, Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of Rhode Island visited the Performing Arts Reading Room at The Library of Congress, where he had the opportunity to explore coveted manuscripts by W. A. Mozart in the Gertrude Clarke Whittall Collection.

Dr. Viquez was joined by Nicholas Brown-Cáceres, Chief of the Music Division at the Library of Congress and María Peña, Public Affairs Specialist from Library of Congress Office of Communication.

It is with great sadness that the URI Department of Music has learned of the passing of our former faculty member, Dr. Joseph "Joe" Ceo (1933–2026).

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, former students, and all who knew him. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing.
