One of our favorite and most important days of the year. Fire Safety Day at IELC!! 🔥🧯

Today, we welcomed FF/EVO Tyler Szumski from the Dupont Volunteer Fire Department to our school to show our friends what firefighters look like in the their gear. He taught us all about what each piece of a firefighter's gear is used for, and showed us that even though firefighter gear is big, the person underneath is friendly and there to help us. 👨‍🚒

FF Tyler also taught us about fire safety! He showed us how to stop, drop, and roll, and he reminded us to always listen to adults in the event of an emergency.

We also welcomed Fire Chief Floyd Young, Deputy Chief Ed Szafran, FF/PM Bob Pugh, and FF/PM Tim Saltz from the Kingston Forty Fort Fire Department. They brought Engine 1 right to our front door so that we could explore and pretend to be real firefighters. 🚒

We couldn't be any more grateful for all of our community partnerships here at IELC. 💙🤍

Huge thanks to the Kingston Police Department for visiting us today! 🚔

Our older toddlers have been learning about police officers, so they were so excited to check out the police cars up close!

We’re so grateful for the community members who take the time to connect with our little learners. It truly takes a village! ❤️ 💙

Grandparents Day Breakfast at Illumination ELC was one for the books!

We are so incredibly grateful for the wonderful community that came together to make this special morning possible for our children and their grandparents. What started as an idea for a special breakfast turned into an amazing outpouring of generosity from local businesses who were willing to help us make it happen.

A huge THANK YOU to:

• Ollie's American Restaurant for donating scrambled eggs
• IHOP Wilkes-Barre for donating pancakes and syrup
• Wegmans for donating a $100 gift card, which we used to purchase fresh fruit
• Cracker Barrel Old Country Store for donating biscuits
• Bakery Delight for donating pastries and other delicious baked goods
• Toastee Bagels for donating bagels

Because of these incredible businesses, we were able to put together a beautiful breakfast for our Illumination families without having to do it alone.

We are so lucky to be part of such a generous community. Thank you for helping us make memories that our children will carry with them!

🍎IN SEARCH OF AN OLDER TODDLER TEACHER🍎

There’s something so special about teaching toddlers! The messy hands, the big laughs, the water play, the little moments of connection, and getting to experience the world right alongside them.

We’re looking for an Older Toddler Teacher to join our team before the start of the 2026–2027 school year!

If you’re someone who loves to play, explore, get messy, and make a difference in the lives of little learners, we’d love to have you join us!

Messy hands make meaningful learning! 🌿💧

From our youngest learners to our Pre-K classrooms, children explore, create, and discover through hands-on play every day. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we embrace the mess because that’s where curiosity and learning grow.
