Yesterday, the Commons at Kingston Middle School turned into a Pokemon battle arena for the first annual KMS Pokemon Tournament!⚡

Graphic Design students faced off in a Pokemon tournament featuring cards they designed themselves. They spent two weeks building their own original Pokemon from scratch using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, starting from hand-drawn concepts and developing both the artwork and gameplay aspects of each card. After a week of game practice, yesterday was the day it all came together, with students competing against each other in a Kingston Middle School version of Pokemon and putting their creativity and craftsmanship to the ultimate test.

Thank you to our Graphic Design teacher, Mr. Wittman, for creating such an immersive and fun experience for our current and future students.

Friday was our 8th grade party. As always, it was a fabulous time. Thank you Ms. Knizek for puting on yet another outstanding party for our 8th grade students. From water balloons to karaoke, from bubbles to a horsehead danceoff, we're going to miss this group.

This week, Kingston Middle School hosted its incoming fifth graders for an introduction to all things middle school! 🎒

They were welcomed by the KMS band upon arrival, then spent the morning being guided by current KMS students on tours of the school and sitting in on presentations about what to expect in middle school. Students had the chance to ask questions, eat lunch at KMS, and finish the day with an assembly.

Visits like these go a long way in helping students feel prepared and confident as they make the transition from elementary to middle school. It's always great to see our older students step up to welcome the next group coming through the door! 🩷🖤

Students at Kingston Middle School got some invaluable hands-on training this week when North Kitsap Fire and Rescue stopped by to teach them how to perform hands-only CPR and use an AED! 🚒

Working in small groups, students practiced each role in a real-life scenario, walking away with skills that could make a difference for a fellow student or someone in their community. It is never too early to be prepared, and we are grateful to North Kitsap Fire and Rescue for investing in our students this way!
