🙌 Internship Spotlight! 🙌

Meet Kate S., a member of the Class of 2028 majoring in Business Analytics and AI! Kate is also a member of the URI Women’s Rowing team. This summer, she put her skills into action as a Business Analyst Contractor with Prison Fellowship.

Through her role, Kate optimized more than 700 donor tabs in Salesforce, helping improve usability and streamline communication for the development team at the nonprofit organization.

Kate’s biggest takeaway from the experience? “Don’t be afraid to ask questions.” While working alongside another Business Analyst, Kate recognized the importance of keeping their work standardized and consistent, emphasizing that “Quality is critical!”

Meet Andrew V., a member of the Class of 2027 majoring in Marketing with minors in Military Science and Leadership! This summer, Andrew put his marketing skills into action as a Marketing Intern with Spec Ops Tools in North Kingstown, RI.

Throughout his internship, Andrew helped organize tool expos at shows like Ace, worked on social media marketing through Reels and promotions, contributed to the company’s philanthropic efforts, and even assisted with field testing new products.

“Getting this experience has taught me the true inner workings of a real company, something that you cannot get in a lecture.”

We proudly recognize Tiara Allen, a Fashion Business major, who graduated this May 🎓

Tiara was an active member of Delta Sigma Pi and enjoyed attending panels, participating in community service, and building connections within the College of Business community.

She was also involved as a tour guide, BUS 101 mentor, and member of the Fashion Merchandising Society, and gained experience with Tric Marketing Agency.

Tiara studied abroad in Florence, Italy, where she completed an apparel course and gained hands-on experience at a boutique.

Following graduation, she will attend the London College of Fashion to study Global Fashion Retailing.

Meet Vivian K., a class of 2029 undergraduate student majoring in Sports Management with minors in Philosophy and Leadership. Vivian spent the summer as a Paralegal Intern for Sports Media Inc.

“My internship at Sports Media Inc. has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Through work in compliance, legal research, and contract review, I’ve had the opportunity to strengthen my legal skills while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience. What has made this journey especially memorable is the collaborative environment and the support of such an exceptional team. I’m grateful for the mentorship, encouragement, and opportunities that have helped me grow both professionally and personally.”

Internships like Vivian’s create opportunities for students to learn, grow, and prepare for their futures while helping businesses invest in the next generation of professionals and strengthen our communities.

🙌 Internship Spotlight! 🙌

Meet Amanda C., a class of 2027 undergraduate student majoring in Supply Chain Management with a minor in German. She is also a captain of the URI Women’s Rowing team. Amanda spent the summer with FritoLay as a Supply Chain Operations Intern. She worked at a High Velocity Distribution Center (HVDC), a warehouse that holds approximately 300 SKUs. Amanda’s primary project focused on improving unit accuracy. She also had the opportunity to tour manufacturing plants, distribution centers, go to stores with the sales team, and taste test a warm Dorito right off the line!

“My business classes at URI laid the foundation, but this internship gave me the chance to see supply chain management in action. During my 10 weeks at Frito-Lay, I gained experience using tools like Power BI, SAP, and Excel, collaborating cross-functionally, and working on a project focused on improving unit accuracy. The best part of the experience was learning from a team that was willing to teach, trust, and challenge me. Getting to contribute to a company whose products I grew up enjoying made this opportunity even more meaningful.”

Amanda’s experience is a great example of how classroom learning can prepare students to take on new challenges, apply their skills, and grow through real-world experiences.

Meet Elliott C., a 2028 graduate pursuing his degree in Supply Chain Management! He has spent the summer at Pratt & Whitney as a Strategic Sourcing Intern. He is working in the castings divisions of strategic sourcing working on long term agreements and data compilation.

"The best part of this internship hasn't been what I've learned. It's been who I've learned from and worked with."

Meet Jaiden H., a 2027 graduate pursuing her degree in Supply Chain Management! She has spent the summer at Hayward Industries as an Inventory & Planning Analyst.

“As an Inventory and Planning Analyst Intern at Hayward, I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand how a global manufacturing company operates and apply what I’ve learned in the classroom to a real supply chain environment. It’s been rewarding to see the impact of my work within a major process improvement initiative. Through project work, shadowing experiences, and collaboration with professionals, I’m strengthening my analytical and problem-solving skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the supply chain field.”

Experiential learning benefits students, employers, and our communities alike. When businesses invest in student internships, they help develop future leaders while strengthening the workforce of tomorrow.

We proudly recognize Ava Czerniach, a Management major with minors in Public Relations and Sports Media & Communications, who graduated this May 🎓

Ava’s time at URI was filled with leadership, involvement, and hands-on learning opportunities. She especially valued building relationships with professors and participating in experiences like visiting Quonset Business Park through her coursework.

She held several campus leadership roles, including Alumni Engagement Intern with the URI Foundation, VIP President for the Student Entertainment Committee, Color Guard Captain for the URI Ram Marching Band, and Event Staff at the Ryan Center.

Following graduation, Ava returned to New Jersey, where she plans to continue serving as a volunteer firefighter while pursuing opportunities in community relations and fan engagement.
