We would like to congratulate Sophia Parks and Jorja Stakely for being named national finalists in the 2026 National FFA Agriscience Fair! These ladies will complete their interview in September and travel to Indianapolis for national convention in October to present their projects to the public and receive their award on stage!

We are very proud of these ladies and their accomplishment!

We had a great time at our 2026-2027 Midway FFA officer retreat! These students have some great ideas that we will be implementing this school year. I love that our officers want to grow our chapter and educate not only our students and staff, but also our community, about agriculture and show our appreciation! Be sure to follow us all year to see the great things Midway FFA will be doing!

Some of our officers have been very busy this summer with conferences to enhance their personal and professional skills!
Kyker Johnston and Kayla Patterson were selected by Roane County Farm Bureau to attend the Tennessee Leadership Summit at the Herbert College of Agriculture. Throughout the week, they toured the campus of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, attended workshops, met with industry professionals, developed better leadership, met Smokey XII, learned what it means to be a Torchbearer, made new friendships, participated in team-building activities, and completed a Food Sustainability Project!

From Kayla and Kyker: “We loved learning the different aspects of becoming a leader, and how people show leadership in different ways. We were able to reconnect with members from across the state that we’ve met through other FFA conventions and conferences, as well as make so many new friends! We are so grateful for this opportunity and have gained valuable skills that we will carry for a lifetime. We want to thank Farm Bureau for sponsoring us and making it possible for us to have this amazing experience!”

Millie Bacon attended the summer Engineering Camp at Tennessee Tech. During this camp, students to learn about engineering, computing and engineering through engaging in hands-on projects related to the top engineering and computing fields, taught by TN Tech faculty members. Students worked directly with industry leaders and tour and experiment in state-of-the-art laboratories. Camp participants are also mentored by current Tennessee Tech students and learn what it means to be an engineering student.
By the end of this camp, students will have gained in-depth knowledge about the seven engineering and computing programs at Tennessee Tech.

From Millie: “I was so overjoyed at the opportunity to attend the TN Tech engineering camp/conference. We got to participate in real life mini projects in multiple fields of engineering. I had a great time making new friends and exploring the beautiful campus.”

3 Midway FFA members- Savannah Branson, Kyker Johnston, and Pepper Willoughby- had such a good time at Tennessee FFA Summer Camp! Students participated in leadership and experience classes, numerous team sport activities, made many new friends, and so much more!

-Members learned how to be stronger leaders for their chapters and how to serve their communities!

-Kyker participated in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking LDE and served on Camp Council

-All 3 members earned Silver or Gold for their participation within their teams. Members played NUMEROUS sports throughout the week!

-Pepper Willoughby said the prayer before a meal and all 3 members helped with kitchen clean-up!

-We befriended National FFA officer Claire Woeppel from Nebraska, as well as made MANY other new friends!
