This one-day leadership retreat on campus will focus on well-being and reconnecting with the leadership community! We hope this provides space away from the hustle and bustle and gives you the opportunity to reconnect with some familiar, or new, faces.

🤓 Official description: The Sophomore Breakthrough Experience (SBE) is an opportunity for second-year students, as emerging student leaders, to spend time not only learning about themselves, but also meeting their peers and upper class student leaders on campus. As a participant, you will:

Have you visited our StrengthsHub page? Several URI staff members across different departments are Gallup-Certified Strengths Coaches and ready to work with students and colleagues to increase self awareness, deepen knowledge and appreciation of others’ talents, assist teams in maximizing effectiveness. We can work one-on-one in ongoing coaching sessions (free for students!) and with groups on campus. Today’s program highlight: Dr Rose Butler Browne Leadership and Mentoring Program! Since the mid 1990s, CSLD has partnered with the URI Women’s Center for this program open to all. Components of the program center issues of women of color, providing opportunities for community and education for all who attend and wish to engage. These components include the LDR 291 course, our Annual Community Gathering, and the Women of Color Conference.

Scholarship, Service, Integrity, Character and Fellowship. These are the ideals of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. Did you know the University of Rhode Island Circle of ODK was established back in May 2000? Since that time, we’ve recognized over 200 student leaders, URI administrators, faculty and staff members for their contributions to leadership and service.

Did you know we had a zip line? We do, on our North Woods Challenge Course. Also on the course are 9 low challenge course elements, 2 additional high elements and a 50-foot climbing tower. 🧗 We also have an indoor climbing facility with 3 additional high elements.
