As summer unfolds, we're thrilled about the community experiences we're creating together. Just last week, we took a group to Knoebels to enjoy the sunshine. Later this month, we're looking forward to our annual Field Day at Kirby Park!

Keep an eye out for exciting announcements and future events — we're planning a special Open House and Art Show in September, featuring a wall mural created by our Day Program participants.

We can't wait to continue to share all these wonderful moments with you!

As we move forward with our summer program, Working Beyond Limits, we want to thank the wonderful educational professionals from the northeast region and the dedicated job sites that have kindly shared their time and effort. Their contributions have created meaningful and engaging experiences for our wonderful students.

This week, Regan celebrated her 16th birthday while on the job at the Seven Loaves Soup Kitchen. Stacey McCarter & Taya Ruda are the Job Coaches and sent us these messages:

"Today, Regan celebrated her 16th birthday at her 1st job with her new coworkers, who are now her friends. Regan is so happy and grateful for this opportunity. Regan does not let anything get in her way, not her vision, nor her fears. She is hard-working and a great team player! Happy Sweet 16, Regan!! May this year be as sweet as you!"

"RBL has been so welcoming not only to me but also to these amazing students. They go above and beyond. I’m so lucky to be job coaching this amazing group this summer. We’re only 3 weeks in I’ve seen each student gain skills, come out of their shell, take initiative, and do something they never have before. I’m excited to see what else they accomplish over the next 5 weeks." - Taya

"I’m very thankful for the opportunity to work with the students and staff at RBL. I enjoy being their driver and coach, building relationships with them, and helping them start each day on a positive note. It’s been rewarding to watch their confidence grow as they build workplace relationships, take initiative, and become more independent. I’m proud to be a part of their journey." - Stacey

Thank you, Stacey, Taya, and the Seven Loaves Soup Kitchen, for all you've done. We are forever indebted to you for your commitment to creating a better world to live in.

Also, we cannot highlight a WBL group without thanking both the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation & Luzerne/Wyoming County MH/DS for providing the funds to support our program.

A heartfelt thank-you to MHDS of Luzerne and Wyoming Counties for making this program possible, and to the coaches and participating organizations whose dedication is helping students build skills, confidence, and brighter futures.

Staff, clients, families, and members of our community rallied together this month to help us collect items to fill our Packs of Positivity. Today, as we close out Developmental Disability Awareness Month, we took our clients to the Heartwood Center, a day shelter and resource hub for individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity, to hand out our packs.

Here are a few photos from the month-long initiative. We are so grateful for the generosity of so many!

On March 24th Reaching Beyond Limits officially celebrated 11 years of providing services to adults with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.

In the years leading up to our beginning, our founders, Amy Hartman and Robyn Ruckle, had an idea to provide a safe space for a young man transitioning out of high school; because of that act of kindness and selflessness we now provide opportunities to hundreds of individuals like Anthony.

Today we employ 135 (and counting) dedicated professionals across the entire northeast. On behalf of all the people who have had their lives changed, I want to say thank you Amy & Robyn for making the choices you did. The world is a better place, and I am a better human because of you.

— With love and gratitude, your Chief Executive Officer, Annie.
