Happy Field Day!!

Important reminders from Ms. Jamieson:

☀️ The weather looks fantastic but please put sunscreen on your child just in case and make sure they have a water bottle!
👟 Sneakers and comfortable clothes are best for Field Day!
🙌 Families are welcome to join their children for Field day!
🚗 Parking is VERY limited at JFK so please walk or carpool when possible!
🎟️ Attending the BBQ? See Ms. Julie and PTO President, Jess K out back by the garden when you arrive. They will get you checked in!
💵If you RSVP’d and ordered food but did not pay online, you will need to pay $6 per meal when you arrive.
🥪 If you didn’t RSVP, it is too late to order school lunch but you are welcome to come eat with your child and bring your own lunch!
🍽️ All adults going through the lunch line must have a paid sticker to receive a meal!
💛 Family BBQ day is my favorite day of the year and I hope to see you there!!!

Lots of big feelings about tomorrow’s KCSD budget vote and Board of Education election. Honestly, we get it.

On one side are very real concerns about taxes, affordability, and the growing pressure many families and homeowners are feeling right now. On the other are concerns about what deeper reductions could mean for students, staff, programming, class sizes, and the overall school experience moving forward.

None of this is simple, and we wish the choices facing public schools right now were less difficult.

After a lot of listening, discussion, and reflection, our PTO believes the proposed budget is the better path forward for our school community, while acknowledging it is far from perfect.

At the same time, we deeply respect that community members may come to different conclusions. What matters most is that people participate and make their voices heard.

💙🍎 Teacher Appreciation Week Recap 🍎💙

Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our incredible JFK teachers and staff—and what a week it was.

🥐 Monday kicked things off with a breakfast buffet (coffee, donuts, bagels…fuel for the week!)
🌮 Tuesday brought a festive Cinco de Mayo lunch, generously catered by our own JFK parent business, Edible Swag
🧘‍♀️ Wednesday was all about wellness, with spa goodies, healthy snacks, and even massages
🍫🥨 Thursday we treated everyone to a sweet + salty snack bar, thanks to so many thoughtful donations from JFK families
🫕 We wrapped things up with Fondue Friday, hosted by our fearless leader, Principal Jamieson!

It was a true community effort, and we’re so grateful to everyone who contributed, showed up, and helped make the week feel special. Our teachers and staff give so much to our kids every single day, and while one week can’t fully capture our appreciation, it’s a chance to show just how much they mean to us 💛
