If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone say, I would love to learn karate, but never show up when I offer to teach them (free of charge mind you) or show up maybe one or two times, three at best, then quit when they find out karate takes time, effort, and dedication, I’d be a rich man.
Most people romanticize the idea of karate. With just a few quick lessons I should have everything I need to physically defend myself. However, when the soon find out that is far from the truth, they don’t make the commitment to put forth the effort.
Many will start the journey, but very few will continue.

The term 'Karate' is such a broad umbrella that it's akin to saying 'Ball Sports'.

Some are doing bowls, others baseball, basketball, football, rugby, volleyball. To think of it as one single thing just isn't cricket.
