"On the football field, on the stage, urging the team on to a touchdown, or charming an audience at the Spring Concert, Central's Band remains a source of pride and spirit. By dint of long practice, self discipline, and the knowledge that their efforts will be crowned with success, the band has succeeded in becoming a major influence in the life of the school." - 1960 Queen

Jean M. Mooney – Wilkes-Barre Citizens' Voice 08/26/2025

An enthusiastic fan of all of the sporting programs at the school, one would always find Mrs. Mooney cheering on the players at the basketball, soccer and football games. Everyone knew Mrs. Mooney and she still remembered the names of every graduate to this day. With her magnetic personality and beautiful way of making everyone laugh and smile, she became fast friends with all who passed through the halls of Bishop O'Reilly."
