🦷RADIOLOGY WEEK🦷

Our students are digging deep into the technical intricacies of dentistry, and we couldn’t be more proud! 🥰🎯

Students took a CBCT/PAN and FMX on each other! X-rays, the invisible tool giving us insight into our patients’ oral health, has been a fascinating area to explore. We’ve seen our students’ curiosity and dedication shine as they learn about this pivotal aspect of dental care. 📚

They started learning how to identify restorations on radiographs, practiced putting together the XCP holder, and learned the different types of radiographs (periapical, bitewing, PAN, CBCT).

Students started learning the basics of CAD/CAM digital scanning and practiced scanning both arches on each other.

🦷Week 3🦷

Each week our students are becoming more confident in their skills!

Students had their second patient day where they assisted on crown preparations and crown seats, composite resin fillings, tooth extractions, removal of a lingual bar and a limited exam!

We like our students to assist on a variety of procedures during patient days to see what it’s like on a daily basis being a dental assistant.

Students are learning patient communication, importance medical histories, and chart notes.

Week 5️⃣ of 8️⃣ complete ✔️

Students learned how to digitally scan on each other. By using an intraoral scanner to create a precise three-dimensional image of a patient’s teeth and oral tissues, dental assistants help improve the accuracy of restorations such as crowns, bridges, aligners, and implant restorations while eliminating the need for traditional impression materials. Digital scanning enhances patient comfort, reduces the likelihood of remakes due to inaccurate impressions, and allows dentists and dental laboratories to communicate more efficiently.

Students learned how to take alginate impressions! Creating dental molds is an art in itself, combining precision and creativity. We’ve loved watching our students marvel at the detail and accuracy they can achieve. 🎨🔬

Students poured up dental models and learned how to break them out of the mold and trim them up!

Students fabricated whitening trays and learned how to trim and smooth the tray for patient comfort!

Students finished their resumes and had mock interviews with one of our instructors!

Week by week, we’re building up skilled, passionate professionals who are ready to make a real difference in the world of dentistry. 🌟👩‍🔬
